President’s Truth - Lion clubs, like all successful groups, must have smooth-running committees that accomplish their tasks efficiently. We at the Mishawaka Lions Club have been fortunate over the years to have had both hardworking chairpersons and diligent committee members. The Fish Fry Committee lost a fine chairperson in Bev Quimby, but it has been blessed with new co-chairpersons, Peg VanNevel and Mikki Beaty. The Fine Arts Committee, led by chairperson Don Crawford, and the Pancake Breakfast Committee, chaired by Brian Gordon, are two other major components of our club. Recently both Don and Brian have decided to step down from their leadership positions. They both did a wonderful job, so finding someone to “step into their shoes” will not be an easy task. As a club we will either have to find new chairpersons for these two committees or risk losing them. Be thinking about the future of these and all of our committees. As your new president I would appreciate your input and your ideas at any time.

Fish Fry --
Our Lions Club Fish Fry is just around the corner. On Friday, August 13th we will be serving fish from 11am to 7pm. Be thinking fish and cole slaw, and remember the secret prizes for the top three ticket sellers. Also, the fish fry is a special time to work with and get to know some of your fellow lions. What a deal, good food and great company on a nice, clear, summer day – only the nice and clear can’t be guaranteed.
Fine Arts Music Series --
Thomas and Austin Huntington will perform on August 26th at Mishawaka High School at 7:00.
Banner Night --
The Newton Center in Lakeville will be the site of this year’s Banner Night on August 28th. It will begin at 6:00.
